MARANATHA NIGHTS: "THE SEASONS"
---
"The Seasons" Community Event... Worship Nights... Maranatha Nights… call it whatever you want, it's happening for the next 4 weeks on Thursday nights! Invite anyone of any background or religion, send them the poster of your choice, screenshot or download PDFs via Linktree. Come if you're seeking community, a place to worship and pray, if you need freedom, if you need healing, if you need hope. Come and hear the greatest news of all time, the Gospel of everlasting hope which saves souls. We will be doing a 4 week series based on the seasons and their metaphorical correlation to our call to know Christ and live for Him.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, 'The righteous shall live by faith,'" (Romans 1:16-17).
PAST EVENTS:
POP-UP PUBLICS WORSHIP SESH (TOWER 38 GRASS PATCH)
---
Got to do a public worship session right near the beach with a beautiful view of the sunset. We can't help but be grateful for not only where we live but what we get to do. We can worship... the Lord... in public. That is not something everyone in the world can say, that is a beautiful privilege we have in the United States. Thank you Jesus. During the event, many people came by and heard us praising the Lord. Good conversations were had and we pray that lives were changed.
“Sing aloud, O daughter of Zion; shout, O Israel! Rejoice and exult with all your heart, O daughter of Jerusalem! The Lord has taken away the judgments against you; he has cleared away your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you shall never again fear evil. On that day it shall be said to Jerusalem: “Fear not, O Zion; let not your hands grow weak. The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing," (Zephaniah 3:14-17).
POP-UP WORSHIP SESSION (PLNU)
---
Yet another worship session to praise the Lord in public places. Our original plan for this event was to worship in Point Loma Nazarene University's (PLNU) prayer chapel. However, we realized it might be too small for who were expecting. Then, we thought the parking garage would be good... but as with last event decided to follow our convictions since we didn't have permission. So, we ended up in the PLNU city lot with a beautiful view of the ocean behind us. It was a fun night of worship and praise. There was time for reflection and time for prayer. We had two people give words and encourage those at the event. The words spoke of an end-time church, conquering the dragon "...by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony...[having] loved not their lives even unto death (Revelation 12).
POP-UP WORSHIP SESSION (7/11)
---
Is our time of praise and worship limited to a specific place? How about a specific time or day of the week? Of course not. These worship sessions were birthed out of a desire to be bold in our worship, to sing praises out to our Lord in public places. To hopefully show people that there is a God worthy to be praised. The original location for this event was actually at the Heritage Garden in Escondido. The problem was that we hadn't had permission to play there. So, following our convictions we sought God for another option. There was a 7/11 right across the street and because Jesus is worthy... we asked. The boss was called and we began to wait. A few moments later we not only got a yes to use their power but also to setup right in front of the 7/11 in the parking lot! They said we could play for 3 hours... and we did. Praise God for His provision. This was also held on Halloween night. We had many people from the community pass by and hear praises be sung out to the God of the universe. Conversations were had and prayers were invoked, we believe also, lives were changed. Thank you Jesus.
THE THEMELIOS ASSEMBLY
---
Our second event was a work of God! We got to hear two messages; one from Bryan and another from Emma on the foundations discussed in Hebrews 6:1-2 and the connecting passages throughout the Bible which tell of the basic “milk” of Christianity. We got to worship in community and sing praises out to the Lord. We were able to share testimonies with one another on how God has divinely worked in our life through the power of the Holy Spirit and the name of Jesus. We were able to pray over those who needed freedom and Holy Spirit empowerment and see absolute and powerful change and newness of life. We were able to baptize one person (Bradley) and see him come out and receive the Holy Spirit (more on his testimony to come)! Overall, we believe God wants to do something special in these events as we continue to teach the TRUE truth of the gospel. We will continue holding various events as long as God wills all while proclaiming the good news to everyone we encounter.
THE MARANATHA ASSEMBLY
---
From the power of worship to the teachings to the meeting and greeting, God was able to move. The night was centered on this idea of Maranatha. The word meaning: the Lord has come but also the Lord will come/Lord come! (read more on our earlier posts). There is a triumph we can have over the death that this world brings and thus have a hope in life eternal through our Lord Jesus! We ourselves are used as tools by God for the hastening of Jesus' return to His appointed time. It takes prayer and evangelism. Showing people the truth and leading them to repentance by the grace of God.
We had been hesitant. Wondering if anyone would show up. But before the event started we saw people come to know the truth. We saw people accept Jesus. And it was at these points that we knew it was all worth it. Not just by what God has already done but simply because of our audience of one. It didn't matter who came or didn't come, it was all for God and it was to celebrate Him and glorify Him and thank Him. But God still brought a crowd; a community of people ready learn more about the gospel and meet people they never had met. We simply wanted God to do whatever He wanted. And we believe He did!
